Trespass (2004), here recorded live at the Bookbinders Open Mic session, 10th April 2011.

Trespass

Behind the Dale Cascade I hid for days

When the doubt cloud came I couldn't wait,

And I dare you to try and take me by surprise

If I can't feel the heat, or if I can't feel my feet it's cos my instincts are all dead beat

sentinel fell asleep last night

I live with one hand on a case

I give a random street a miss

Life below the radar in the system  Sacred ground I have trespassed,

now I step the steep goat path

with trip feather scree that'll send me surfing

Down plunge ravines I wear a face That's brave beyond my comprehension

I say no pray no beg no invitation It's me or the thief that leaves on his feet

Never read the smallprint that came with me

It's an ending and there'll be no abdication

Now I lie in wait for the deep wide water Was it enough that I didn't falter

Took what I was wearing through the gate

Lived too far to see it now Lived too long to allow them all to see

Any sign of wealth and taste
